Maison Rouge Scarf

A square of silk twill in the house red, the exact shade that runs through every Maison collection. Worn at the neck, over the hair, or tied to the handle of the tote, it is the smallest way to carry the house.

The silk is a 16-momme twill woven in Como and screen-printed in Lyon, where each colour is laid down by hand in separate passes. The gold selvedge is printed last, so it sits crisp against the red.

Ninety centimetres square, with the weight and drape that lets it fall rather than stand. It ties without slipping and irons back to flat after any knot.

The edge is rolled and stitched by hand, a full day's work for a single artisan, which is why every scarf is very slightly different from the next.

Presented in a red box with a gold ribbon. Dry clean only; store folded, out of direct light.
